Backstory

Reliable records of Vexa’s early life are scarce, and she has shown no interest in correcting them. What is known is written into her body. Her augmentations began as practical advantages and became something closer to conviction: proof that flesh is not sacred merely because it is original.

She does not see herself as repaired or diminished. Every modification makes her faster, stronger, harder to kill—and, by her own assessment, better. Vexa has no retirement plan and no carefully preserved future waiting for her. She intends to live intensely for as long as she can, accepting that the work may eventually collect its price.

Her loyalty is equally unsentimental. She does not make speeches or offer soft assurances. When Vexa cares, she arrives armed, handles the problem, and acts as though she was merely passing through.

Relationship to Orion

Orion began as a target and became an unfinished argument. Their encounters follow a familiar pattern: pursuit, confrontation, escape—and just enough restraint to make the official version difficult to believe.

Vexa respects competence, and Orion has survived enough of her attention to earn it. He plans; she closes the distance. He searches for leverage; she applies pressure until something gives. Neither trusts the other completely, but both understand that the other will show up when the stakes become real.

Whether she continues hunting him for the contract, the challenge, or because the chase has become its own relationship remains unclear. Asking her directly is not recommended.
